First window fitted

Removing old badly fitted windows  took time and effort

An electric scaper was used to cut throgh the thick layer of mastic

Now all five windows fitted

decks now painted with International deck paint, decks a sand colour and the hatches and foredeck Cream

Now can start on the woodwork and deck fittings

 two half inch ply boards epoxied and screwed togerther

 new steel work

 rudder blade sheathed in grp

 first trial fit of rudder steelwork

at last, rudder fitted and painted

100 wood plugs made for rub rail

two nice sheet winches recovered from a scrap yacht ...just the job when cleaned up

from same scrapped yacht but a little large for zelma!

wood work now treated with 8 coats Deks Ole D1

A deep hole dug to insert the rudder shaft

Careful measure of the rudder bar before cutting to suit bearing

new rudder now has a flange to aid removal

first trial fit of new rudder steelwork

Both Rubbing strakes now fitted

The Strakes are Iroko

 80 stainless bolts fitted to both top strakes and now ready for plugging and final sand before applying many coats of D1

Forward section now all painted

next job is the upper rub strake

trial fit of steps made from an old dinghy centre board case

after a bit of tweeking the steps sanded and varnished.....missed a bit!

Bouncy floor repaired

pattern made for new floor boards

old rudder cut off and rotten ply being separated from iron work which has well rusted. new iron work and rudder shaft to be made by local blacksmith
